Good humanitarian Practice is our original governing body of ethical work . It is a body of work that not only permeates and drives every step of our humanitarian activities but also represents the minimum guiding standards all of our NGO partners must subscribe to.
Preamble
Whereas recognition of the right to life is an inherent, equal and inalienable right of all members of the human family.
Whereas disasters whether naturally occurring or caused by man will continue to create situations for the need for international humanitarian relief interventions.
Whereas it is essential to promote the protection of international relations by which human persons everywhere in the world can contribute to relieving the pain and suffering of their fellow human beings anywhere in the world.
Whereas a common understanding of these rights is pivotal for the protection of every human person’s right to receive humanitarian assistance.
We therefore proclaim and adopt at NGO NEST inc. THIS DECLARATION OF RIGHTS FOR HUMANITARIAN RELIEF BENEFICIARIES.
Everyone has the right to life

Everyone has the right to receive humanitarian aid.

Everyone in need of humanitarian assistance has the right to receive related services without discrimination as to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability and sexual orientation.

Everyone receiving humanitarian assistance has the right to receive this assistance and related services in a setting impartial to conflicts.

Everyone receiving humanitarian assistance has the right to receive related services in a setting and manner that protects their right to privacy and to human dignity.

Everyone receiving humanitarian assistance has the right to be informed of the identifications, credentials and contacts of the organization providing assistance and to be informed of any potential risks associated with the the aid received.

Everyone receiving humanitarian assistance has the right to receive or refuse any portion of the assistance, provided the partial acceptance does not put the beneficiary at greater risk of threat to his or her life, well-being and/or livelihood.
